The Bible tells us, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1Thessalonians 5:18). Pastor Darrin Espy was born and reared in the city of Gilmer, Texas. He feels he was called at a young age, but in his teenage years, he faltered, not knowing or understanding God’s will for his life. It was around 1996 when the Lord began to deal with his heart and mind about changing his life. During that same year, the Lord called him out of the darkness of sin and degradation and into the marvelous light of Jesus Christ through the teaching ministry of Pastor Ronald Glover.
The Word of God produced a miraculous change in Pastor Espy’s life, and he began to seek for the baptism of the Holy Ghost, something that he had never heard about, even though he had gone to church regularly as a young boy. It was at a Living Gospel Fellowship meeting in the city of Monroe, Louisiana, that he received the Holy Ghost, and it was at that time that he began to grow in the knowledge of God and felt a calling to the ministry. Pastor Glover encouraged him to make full proof of my ministry, and he assigned him to assist him. He also appointed him as Youth Leader. During his years with The Living Gospel Church, he has served in many capacities, ranging from security and maintenance to Brothers’ Leader and Deacon and now as Pastor.
Both he and his wife, Sister Donykia, grew up in Gilmer and have been married for over 20 years. Sis. Espy assists in the Finance Office as well as in the Hospitality Department. They have been blessed with three adult children: two daughters, LaQuisha and LaBresha, and one son, Dequailen.
The Living Gospel Church of Longview invites you to fellowship with us, to break bread, and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. We believe God will meet your needs as you seek after Him. Hebrews 10:25 encourages us not to forsake “…the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” We hope to see you soon! As stated by our Senior Pastor, Pastor Glover, “We have One Direction—Forward and One Goal—Kingdom Building.” This we will do, if God permits.
